1. About us

Floorlayer Connect is operated by Workforce Connect Ltd (“we”, “us” or “our”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17461709. Our registered office is W1, 45 Albemarle Street, Mayfair, London, W1S 4JL. You can contact us at enquiries@floorlayerconnect.co.uk.

2. What Floorlayer Connect does

Floorlayer Connect is an online platform that helps flooring companies and professional floorlayers find and contact one another. Companies may post work requirements, and floorlayers may create profiles, record skills and availability, and review relevant opportunities.

Important: We provide a connection platform. We are not a party to any contract agreed between a flooring company and a floorlayer, and we do not employ, engage or supervise floorlayers through the platform.

We do not guarantee that a member will receive work, find a suitable floorlayer, receive a response, or successfully conclude an agreement.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts. You must provide accurate, current information and keep it updated. You are responsible for protecting your password and for activity carried out through your account. Each authorised person should use their own named login; login details must not be shared. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

Business users confirm that they have authority to act for the company they register. A company account and its membership plan apply to the whole legal organisation, trading group or associated brand receiving the service—not to one employee, login, branch or department. Companies must accurately state their total operating locations, geographic coverage and expected platform use. They must not split an organisation between accounts, omit associated locations or use multiple registrations to obtain a lower plan or additional promotional access. We may combine linked accounts, correct a plan, request reasonable supporting information, restrict access or close accounts where information is inaccurate or the service is being divided to avoid the applicable plan.

Each member is responsible for checking the identity, qualifications, experience, insurance, right to work, tax status and suitability of anyone they choose to work with.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • post false, misleading, discriminatory, unlawful or unsafe content;
  • impersonate another person or organisation;
  • harass members or misuse their contact information;
  • upload malicious code, probe security, scrape the service, or interfere with the platform;
  • use the platform to evade legal, tax, employment, health and safety or safeguarding duties;
  • copy or commercially exploit the platform or its content without permission.

You retain ownership of content you submit. You give us a non-exclusive licence to host, reproduce and display that content only as needed to operate, secure and promote the service. You confirm that you have the right to submit it.

5. Work requirements, matches and introductions

Companies are responsible for the accuracy and legality of work requirements, rates and working conditions. Floorlayers are responsible for the accuracy of their profiles, skills, availability and rates. Any agreement about price, scope, timing, payment, employment status, insurance, site access, materials or quality is made directly between the members concerned.

Matches are based on information supplied by members and platform rules. A match or introduction is not an endorsement, guarantee, reference or verification by us.

6. Fees, subscriptions and founding access

Core floorlayer membership is currently free. Company membership is classified using the whole organisation’s operating footprint and platform use. We ask about operating locations, geographic coverage, floorlayers required and expected monthly adverts. Locations and coverage determine the recommended category: Independent Local, Independent Regional, Independent National or Multi-site / Enterprise. An administrator confirms the category and reviews monthly advert usage and any allowance separately. Higher advert volume does not itself change geographic coverage. Named login users may be included for secure access but do not determine the organisation’s plan.

Our founding offer is limited to the first 100 eligible, genuine Independent Local and Independent Regional company accounts that we approve. Registration alone does not guarantee a founding place. Independent National and Multi-site / Enterprise organisations are not automatically included in that offer but may receive a separately agreed pilot. We may verify eligibility and withdraw promotional access where information is incomplete, inaccurate or an organisation has been divided between accounts.

There is no automatic conversion from free founding or pilot access to a paid subscription. Before any payment begins, we will give clear notice and show the applicable plan, included service, price, billing period, renewal terms and any taxes. You will only be charged after choosing and authorising a paid subscription.

You may cancel a recurring subscription through the method shown in your account or by contacting us. Unless the checkout terms say otherwise, cancellation stops future renewals and access to paid features continues until the end of the paid billing period. Statutory rights are not affected.

A company must tell us if its organisation size, coverage or use materially changes. We may move it to the appropriate plan following review. We may change prices, thresholds or plan features, but we will give reasonable advance notice where the change affects an existing paid subscription.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Floorlayer Connect available and accurate, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. We may update, improve, restrict or withdraw features for maintenance, security, legal or commercial reasons. We will try to give reasonable notice of material changes.

8. Responsibility and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for the acts, omissions, work, payment failures, disputes, losses or content of members, or for agreements made between them. Business users are responsible for their own commercial decisions and due diligence. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill or data arising from business use of the platform.

Any total liability we may have to a business user in connection with the service will not exceed the fees that user paid to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, except where the law does not allow that limit.

9. Suspension, closure and complaints

You may close your account subject to any outstanding payment obligations. We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, the platform or another person is at risk, payment is overdue, or the law requires us to act. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow an appeal.

To report a concern or make a complaint, email enquiries@floorlayerconnect.co.uk.

10. Privacy and intellectual property

Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information. Our name, logos, software, design and original platform content belong to us or our licensors and may not be used without permission.

11. Changes, law and courts

We may update these terms when the service or law changes. We will publish the updated date and, for material changes affecting members, provide reasonable notice.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a business, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you use the service as a consumer, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in the part of the UK where you live.
